Doug Pietrzak's Tournament WorldText Box: Ditto and I will take off for Lake Wyle for the TBF Championship on April 22nd from there we will drive to Kentucky to fish the Stren tournament before returning home. Ditto will drive to Louisville and fly home from there. Then the Minnesota season starts. I finished in 60th place on Norfork Lake in Ak. We had 5 inches of snow the day before the tournament and they canceled the first day of the event. Fishing had gotten better before the snow and with the snow the water came up and cooled down, and so did the fishing. I had 2 fish for the tournament and out of 150 anglers I still ended up in 60th. The Weekend Warrior Championship at Pickwick was a good time other than the weather the first day. I watched the water rise 2 1/2 inches in 20 minutes on Friday. I had a limit both days of the tournament just no big ones. I was in 29th after the first day but everyone was pretty close. I was only 8lbs out of first, just one fish down there. About 10:30 on Saturday I had a big fish and I was 30 miles down river. They had a special deal where you could weigh in a big fish between 11:50 am and 12:10 pm and if it was the biggest fish of the 2 days in that time period you were in next years tournament automatically. I guess my 7lb largemouth was big enough. Because I ran all the way back I fished around the weigh in area and was not able to catch any other big fish. I had a really good time and learned a lot about fishing down south. If I can afford it next year I will do it again.
